Linux underneath.
Zaman at your fingertips.

The current development installation uses Armbian with Debian 13 . Armbian provides the operating-system foundation and board integration. Zaman brings the library, system UI and the coordination that turns individual applications into a console experience.

Upstream projects keep their own licenses. Zaman’s components are developed in public; each repository documents its own scope.

What comes next

A roadmap you can follow.

Reliability Under validation

Stress testing and recovery

The current baseline is entering rigorous validation, covering menu responsiveness, controller reconnection and multi-controller support, extended play sessions, transfer resilience, duplicate handling, storage capacity checks and recovery after restart..

Hardware Planned

Raspberry Pi 5 image

A planned Kawn-maintained preview image. Graphics, audio, controllers, emulators and recovery must be qualified on the Pi. No public Zaman image is available yet.

Updates Planned

Packaged Zaman component updates

Versioned compatible packages, authenticated releases, visible update progress and tested repair/recovery. First scope targets Zaman components; whole-system atomic updates are separate.

Capture & files Planned

Screenshots and a gallery

Capture still images, browse them with a controller and export them. Follows the current hardening work.
